There are a range of resource materials available through the office.  Documents such as best practices for and related articles related to the recruitment and retention of URM students.  We also welcome your ideas regarding future resources to create that will assist with your diversity efforts.

  • Application Fee Waivers
    • The Office of Graduate Diversity Initiatives in collaboration with the Office of Graduate Admissions and academic departments offers application fee-waivers for University of Chicago graduate degree programs for students who have participated in specific graduate diversity pipeline programs. Please contact the Office of Graduate Diversity Initiatives for specific instructions on requesting a fee waiver.

    • Strategies for Success in Graduate & Summer Research Opportunities
      • Sponsored by Stanford University, the University of Chicago and Vanderbilt University, Strategies for Success in Graduate & Summer Research Opportunities is an interactive workshop that covers the unwritten rules in preparing for, applying to and succeeding in graduate school and summer research programs. The objective of the program is to prepare undergraduate students to be well-qualified candidates for research-based graduate programs as well as competitive summer research opportunities, thereby increasing the number of students and program participants from underrepresented student populations.
    • Navigating the Graduate Environment Series
      • Navigating the Graduate Environment is an interactive workshop that covers obstacles that graduate and post-baccalaureate students from underrepresented groups may face in the pursuit of a graduate degree. Tools are also offered to overcome implicit bias, stereotype threat and impostor syndrome.
